A bit of a break and a decision made.....

Sorry for such a long, unannounced break. Have been under some pressure lately at work and have finally, after much deliberation decided to give up being a Registered Nurse. After almost five years of being a Nurse I have decided to call it quits. Nursing has been a real Love-Hate relationship for me, it is a job that is so challenging, inspiring and satisfying but it is also demanding, stressful and often thankless. So in just over eight weeks I will say goodbye to my Old Foxes at the Rest home and hello to the big ol' world of opportunities. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time!

As is the case with most crafters, at times when many thoughts are racing round ones mind, my hands have been frantically crafting.....that's one thing about stress that is rather good!!! So here are the fruits of my time spent fretting over just what it is I want to do with my life.......

Work in progress.....

The picture on the left captures the true colours of the wools. The brown beret is crafted from my favourite yarn to work with Sirdar's Eco Wool dk, 100% undyed virgin wool. It is so lovely and soft, super gorgeous to work with.

The blue beret is from a yarn that I have sadly lost the label for.

Twice as Nice!

  • A pair of sweet little booties for a family friends new little boy who has not had the easiest start to life but is by the sounds of it, a real little fighter and a super cutie!

Oh so cute booties for teeny toes
These booties are from the May/June 2010 issue of Crochet Today Magazine and are called Bowtie Booties...they are so much fun to make and I think are rather cute...think I will make some more very soon indeed!
  • The beginnings of a little amigurumi tiger for the same little boy, will show you the progress as soon as the Auckland weather is conducive to taking a decent photograph!! I'm enjoying the making of a wee toy but am finding it a little fiddly.....patience is not my strong point.

  • A new passion for photography with the help of a new tripod and the newly downloaded Advanced User Manual for my trusty camera. Helping me record the view from the Sky Den before we move in the weekend....yikes, should really be packing...
  • Oh my view......

.......I really don't want to leave you......

......my lovely, lovely view!

  • More rows on my knitted log cabin blanket

  • And a few more worry lines!!
I hope that things are sweet where you are. Promise to return much sooner next time xx
